Scandria Alliance newsletter February 2025

New chair, new member, high ambitions

The Scandria®Alliance’s start into the new year was marked by the admission of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as a new full member and Minister Detlef Tabbert taking office as new chairperson of the Scandria®Alliance.

As new Minister of Infrastructure and Federal State Planning of Brandenburg (Germany), Detlef Tabbert has taken over the chairmanship of our General Assembly from his predecessor Rainer Genilke. Learn more about his priorities for the German Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg and our Alliance in this interview.
With our new chairperson and our new full member Mecklenburg-Vorpom-mern on board, we keep our ambition to connect regions, communities and economies along the Scandria®Corridor through clean and smart transport-ation. Our 2025 work programme will address issues such as cross-border rail transport, multimodal transport or a future-proof financing of transport and infrastructure across Europe. A milestone in 2025 will be the adoption of a new strategy and the election of a new chair and new vice chairs for the next two years during this year’s General Assembly in late June.

Scandria®Alliance goes across the Alps

During the Scandria Alliance Talk "Fixed links – a strong ScanMed Corridor in the North" on 25 October 2024 we explored how cross-border fixed links – bridges, tunnels, and embankments – can strengthen the ScanMed Corridor. The Alliance Talk "Solutions for sustainable transalpine transport: Tackling Brenner bottlenecks" on 16 December 2024 investigated solutions for a future-proof and sustainable freight transport along the Brenner Corridor.
