The future of transport in light of the new geopolitical context

The 2023 General Assembly of the Scandria Alliance in Helsinki puts a spotlight on the resilience of the transport system.

The conference “Adapting to a changing geopolitical landscape: the future of transport in the Baltic Sea Region and wider Europe” will take place in Helsinki, Finland, on 6-7 November 2023. It will be hosted by the Regional Council of Helsinki-Uusimaa, in cooperation with the Scandria Alliance and the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission Transport Working Group.

Discussions will focus on how vulnerable the supply chains are in the Baltic Sea Region and wider Europe and how the regions and cities can contribute, together with EU support, to the transition towards greener and more resilient transport.

The event will gather high-level representatives from the European, national and regional levels. Among guest speakers will be Mr Pat Cox, European Coordinator for the Scandinavian-Mediterranean corridor.

The conference will include discussions and the adoption of a joint Position Paper from Scandria Alliance and the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission Transport Working Group.
