Between 16 and 22 September 2026, the European Mobility Week is taking place and this is how cities in our member regions contribute to it.
In 2026, approximately 1,500 European cities and towns are participating in the annual European Mobility Week, bringing attention to sustainable urban mobility by hosting local activities and mobility initiatives for their citizens. Included among the participants are some of our Scandria Alliance membering regions, showcasing their initiatives.
In Berlin, Deutsche Bahn is organising a scavenger hunt through their DB Rad + app to collect urban cycling data and to encourage cyclists to discover prices at hidden locations in the city, also informing participants about Berlin’s cycling infrastructure. Collected cycling data can later be used as important inputs for planning more efficient and user-friendly bike networks.

Targeting youths, Helsinki´s “Around the Baltic Sea in 14 Days” project encourages fifth-grade classes all over the city to use sustainable and active transportation for two weeks. Through playful activity logs and informative materials, students learn about sustainable and active transportation, while also competing against other classes by logging trips. Rewards go out to the classes with the most accumulated trips.
