Shaping the future of Europe's mobility together
On 24 April 2024, the European Parliament endorsed the updated guidelines for the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). After more than two years of negotiation, the revised TEN-T regulation is expected to enter into force before the summer break, following the official approval by the Council and the publication in the Official Journal.
Even before these formal steps, discussions during this year’s Connecting Europe Days focussed largely on the implementation of the new guidelines. It became clear that this will pose additional challenges to European transport policy, which will have to address areas such as decarbonisation, resilience, extension of the corridors and integration of urban nodes simultaneously.
Concise and committed action on all levels and collaborative processes of all key stakeholders are required to make the implementation of the new TEN-T policy a success. The Scandria®Alliance members are ready to continue contributing to this process in a constructive dialogue between cities and regions, the national and EU levels.

On the occasion of the Connecting Europe Days, Scandria®Alliance chairs had extended the invitation to a high-level event at Brandenburg’s representation to the EU on 3 April 2024. Panellists discussed how to resolve the discrepancy between agreed upon goals in greening transport and increasing connectivity on the one hand and tightening public budgets on the other hand.
