Connecting Europe and the Nordic capitals by high-speed rail
In this Scandria Alliance Talk, we will disuss how to accelerate high-speed rail travels across Europe – and how a visionary project to connect the Nordic capitals could contribute to this.
Why you should join this talk
In November 2025, the European Commission presented its plan to accelerate the development of high-speed rail across the European Union. The plan aims to deliver fast and affordable train travels across borders. It outlines actions related to infrastructure investments and roll-out, the regulatory framework for rail services, strengthening the European rail sector and EU-level governance and coordination.
The newly published report Nordic Capitals Railway – a more united North, a stronger Europe puts forward a compelling vision for a high-speed rail connection linking Helsinki, Stockholm and Oslo. According to the report, such a connection could become a long-term engine of growth, security and integration for the entire Nordic region.
Join this Scandria Alliance Talk to learn more about the European Commission’s high-speed rail plan, to explore how a high speed rail linking the Nordic capitals could deepen Nordic–EU integration and to discuss how the visionary Nordic Capitals Railway initiative can contribute to the European high-speed rail plan.
